What to know

Shield Prep increases the integrity of the molecular bond that occurs when applying Jax Wax Shield Ceramic Coating.

One of the most important steps in correctly applying Shield Ceramic Coating is making sure the paint is in "like new" condition.

How it works
  • If the vehicle needs paint correction to remove swirls, scratches, and other imperfections this must be done prior to the applications of Sheild Prep and Sheild Cermaic Coating.
  • 1) Wash the entire vehicle using Jax Wax Cannon Soap or Wash and Wax.
  • 2) Use a clay bar to remove any contamination that is in the paint.
  • 3.) Spray Sheild Prep on one panel at a time.
  • 4) Wipe off Sheild Prep with a clean microfiber towel until completely dry.
The Details
  • Enhances Bonding of Ceramic Coating: Shield Prep plays a crucial role in preparing the vehicle's surface for ceramic coating by increasing the integrity of the molecular bond. This ensures that Jax Wax Shield Ceramic Coating adheres more effectively to the paint, providing enhanced protection and durability.
  • Importance of Paint Condition: Achieving a "like new" condition of the paint is emphasized as a critical step before applying Shield Ceramic Coating. This step ensures that the coating performs at its best, highlighting the necessity of starting with a flawless surface for optimal results.
  • Mandatory Paint Correction: Before the application of Shield Prep and Shield Ceramic Coating, any necessary paint correction to remove swirls, scratches, and other imperfections must be completed. This preconditioning step is essential for ensuring that the surface is perfectly smooth and ready for the protective coating.
  • Step-by-Step Application Process: The detailed instructions for using Shield Prep include washing the vehicle, using a clay bar for decontamination, spraying Shield Prep on one panel at a time, and then wiping it off with a clean microfiber towel until dry. This process not only ensures that the surface is impeccably clean but also that it is optimally prepared for the subsequent application of the ceramic coating, guaranteeing the best possible outcome.
